Manager, Community Development, U.S. & Latin America, Ford Motor Company Fund
Joe Ávila has a career that spans corporate social responsibility, international business, multicultural marketing, and supply chain. As a manager at Ford Motor Company Fund, he directs and oversees Ford’s strategic partnerships with key organizations and corporate initiatives on a national and local level. He also manages Hispanic investments nationally, as well as the global expansion of signature programs throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
Prior to joining Ford, Ávila worked at MillerCoors, Molson Coors and Coors Brewing Company, where he managed multicultural relations, corporate social responsibility and marketing programs. Ávila was also instrumental in building the global procurement strategy during the Molson Coors merger.
Ávila serves on the board of directors at the Smithsonian Latino Center, Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) and SER Jobs for Progress National. He is also a corporate advisor for national organizations, including Former Chair of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Corporate Alliance, the largest and oldest Latino civil rights organization in the U.S. He also served as Chair of CNC’s Corporate Board Advisors, a Miami based nonprofit organization that provides human services to persons in need from all racial and ethnic groups.
In 2017, Ávila was selected to represent Hispanic Leaders in the U.S. at a competitive fellowship program sponsored by the Spanish Government and Fundación Carolina, offering in-depth access about Spain and its mutual interests with the global community. In 2008, Ávila received the (Young Hispanic Corporate Achiever Award) for “Hispanics Under 40” by the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR). He is also part of HACR’s Corporate Executive Forum.
