With over 20 years of experience in healthcare information technology and data informatics, Stephen’s expertise is in system engineering, EMR integrations as well as implementations of data platform architectures to support data science, business intelligence, and informatics activities. Throughout his career, Stephen has overseen the Clinical Data Warehouse & Data Analytics teams, Research I.T. teams and Clinical Research Bio-Informatics teams as part of a large multi-disciplinary academic medical center. Additionally, Stephen was program assistant Director for the Bio-Informatics program at the University of Miami Clinical Translational Science Institute and participated as technical data lead on multiple NIH funded research grants. In prior roles, Stephen has implemented genomic medicine projects, built data infrastructures to support advanced data analytics, machine learning, and predictive analytics. He has enabled growth of clinical translational initiatives, built direct integrations into and out of patient systems to support both clinical and research workflows. Joining Nicklaus Children’s Health System in 2020, Stephen oversees and directs strategic implementations of large-scale enterprise-wide data projects as well as enterprise development of cutting-edge informatics systems with big data backend architectures. Stephen oversees the hospital’s entire on-premise and cloud data infrastructure for all clinical and non-clinical data systems across the health system. In addition, Stephen also oversees multi-disciplinary technical teams that focus on business intelligence, application development, research, and innovation programs including VR, gaming, immersive technologies as well as strategies for digital front door initiatives.
