Laura Gaviria Halaby is a tech entrepreneur, investor, and operator. She is a member of the Founding team at Faktory, a generative AI platform that enables knowledge workers to build AI Agents using plain English for increased productivity. Laura also serves as an Operator Advisor for prominent Latin American Unicorns such as Habi, Rappi and Kavak and is an active angel investor. Previously, Laura held the position of Operating Lead for the US$8 billion SoftBank Latin America Funds, where she provided operational support to portfolio companies to accelerate their growth. She has also contributed to the tech industry as the Global Head of Fintech Acceleration at Citibank, facilitating the implementation and launch of digital products through open innovation. In addition, Laura supported and invested in tech startups as the Chief Acceleration Officer at The Venture City and as an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Laura holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from American University (Cum Laude) and an MBA from MIT. She is also a Kauffman Fellow and MIT Legatum Fellow.
