Katie “KZ” Zacarian is the co-founder and CEO of Earth Species Project, a 501c3 nonprofit research lab and impact organization focused on developing novel machine learning research to advance our understanding of animal communication. Their research has been published in Science, International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, and Scientific Reports and has been featured in the Financial Times, The Guardian, WIRED, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and NPR, and more. In 2019, she was honored with the Next Generation Conservationist Award by The International Seakeepers Society for her work.
