Luz Adriana Ramirez Chavez
Country Manager, Visa Mexico
Luz Adriana Ramirez Chavez officially begins her responsibilities as Country Manager for Visa Mexico in August 2013.
With more than 20 years of experience in commercial and consumer finance, Ramirez Chavez will be responsible for operations in Mexico, as well as leading relationships with financial institutions and other key stakeholders.
Before joining Visa, Ramirez Chavez was President of Karum for Latin America, an American company focused on consumer financing. Prior to this position, she was at General Electric for 17 years, in diverse business areas – industrial, corporate and financial – and in which she earned the title of Head of the GE Women Network for Latin America.
Currently, Ramirez Chavez is part of the committee known as AMME (Mexican Association for Executive Women) as well as IPADE (Women in Leadership). She has also participated in the Diversity Committee of the American Chambers and is an active speaker at various associations.
Ramirez Chavez was born in Mexico and graduated from the Universidad La Salle with a degree in Chemical Engineering. She also holds a Masters of Business and Administration (MBA) from Universidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina as well as courses of Finance and Projects Evaluation for Investment from the same university.
