eMerge Americas 2026 delivered one of its strongest National Security experiences to date, a true convergence of mission-ready innovation, veteran leadership, and strategic partnerships that accelerated real capability adoption for national defense.
The week launched with high energy: a sold-out AI Hackathon, followed by NatSec Demo Day at PortMiami, where 20+ critical tech companies engaged directly with 400+ vetted stakeholders from DoD, DHS, government, and industry. Live dockside air, land, and sea demonstrations showcased mission-ready dual-use solutions aligned with DoW Critical Technology Areas, driving immediate pathways to pilots, contracts, and deployment.
The momentum continued through world-class AI + Quantum Masterclasses, live benefit concert with Darius Rucker to support the families of fallen shadow warriors, and two powerhouse days of eMerge Americas featuring presenting partners, T2COM and FIU in the NatSec Pavilion, Veteran Alley, Army xTech Pitch Competition, and Project Scalpel Hackathon (USF + Army DEVCOM + AWS). Keynotes from Under Secretary Emil Michael, GEN Brown, Lt. Governor Jay Collins, DARPA Director Stephen Winchell, and other senior leaders provided actionable insights on AI scaling, autonomy, cybersecurity, and operational resilience.
Veteran leadership remained a cornerstone. The Veteran Workforce Summit + Hiring Fair and Veteran Innovation Summit + Investor Meet & Greet connected transitioning veterans and veteran founders with top employers and investors, delivering panels, fellowships, and direct pathways into high-growth roles and capital. These activations addressed real barriers – transition challenges, skill translation, capital access, and ecosystem fragmentation – while turning operational experience into scalable dual-use advantage.
Florida’s strategic position amplified every outcome: three Combatant Commands, $115B+ defense economic output, 1.4M veterans, and 60% of global space launches. The state’s innovation momentum is undeniable – $2.85B in venture capital across 270 deals in the first half of 2025 alone, with South Florida capturing $2.02B – reinforcing Miami’s rise as a global hub for dual-use tech.
As eMerge Americas continues to expand its national security footprint, the 2026 conference demonstrated how Miami is becoming a leading destination for dual-use innovation, AI in defense, cybersecurity and mission-focused entrepreneurship. By bringing together founders, policymakers, operators and investors under one roof, the National Security vertical highlighted not only the technologies shaping the future of defense, but also the partnerships accelerating innovation from concept to real-world impact.
None of this happens without an extraordinary community that truly believes in the mission. To every partner, sponsor, speaker, veteran, operator, and team member – thank you. Your alignment and commitment made this possible.
The conversations, connections, and capabilities advanced this week will ripple for decades.
We’re only getting started.
Peace Through Strength. Strength Through Innovation. 🇺🇸
As eMerge Americas continues to evolve, we’re more committed than ever to fostering collaboration, sparking innovation, and highlighting the transformative power of Florida’s thriving tech ecosystem.
