Toia was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is currently the Managing Director of GET Cities Miami – a national initiative designed to accelerate the representation and leadership of women, trans, and non-binary people in tech through the development of inclusive tech hubs across the United States. In her role, she specializes in aligning local actors through her expertise in system mapping and dynamic ecosystem analysis. She is currently leading the first local initiative of GET Champions, designed to increase and retain women, trans, and nonbinary employees in a select cohort's companies in 2023. Previously she served as the Executive Director of Cadena Foundation, a nonprofit with 9 international offices dedicated to responding to humanitarian crises and natural disasters worldwide. Toia also spent two years at a nonprofit empowering low-income women and promoting labor inclusion in multinational companies after researching social innovation, economic development, and sustainability strategies throughout her academic career across three top universities: Oxford, Duke University, and Universidad Catolica of Argentina.
