Steve Suarez

Steve Suarez is the Founder and CEO of HorizonX, a firm focused on business strategy and the adoption of emerging technologies. He serves on the Board of Directors at Classiq, a leading quantum software provider, and is a Senior Advisor on Emerging Technology to McKinsey & Company. He previously held senior advisory roles at Bain & Company, QuEra Computing, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Qusecure. Steve also co-founded The Quantum Index, a global benchmarking initiative that ranks enterprise quantum readiness. Before founding HorizonX, Steve was Global Head of Innovation, Global Functions at HSBC, where he led large-scale initiatives to drive digital transformation and future-proof the organization. With over 30 years of experience spanning consulting, telecommunications, and financial services, he has built a reputation for championing bold, forward-looking strategies while leading high-impact global teams. At MIT, Steve lectures on the "Quantum Computing: Strategy and Impact" course, teaching frameworks for quantum readiness and strategic adoption to help organizations shape their quantum computing strategies. Steve holds an MBA and is an alumnus of both Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan School of Management.
