Dr. Reid Melville has worked in the Air Force Research Laboratory for over 30 years, as a computational scientist, as a branch chief, and as a strategy lead. In 2019, he was tapped to architect new approaches for technology exploitation, leading to the AFRL’s Transformational Capabilities Office. As the Chief Innovation Officer for AFRL’s Technology Transition Directorate, Reid has created processes for developing disruptive capability concepts and for improved talent sharing, and now focuses on improving alignment with private capital partners.
