Mauricio Angée serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the University of Miami, UHealth and the Miller School of Medicine. In his CISO role, Angée is responsible for the leadership, planning, and execution of the University's cybersecurity program. Prior to joining the University in 2021, he served as CISO at Mount Sinai Medical Center, and Vice President of information security at Mercantil Bank. He also served as Sr. Manager of security and compliance and acting CISO at Universal Orlando Parks and Resorts. Angée spent several years in the federal government space supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) telecommunications infrastructure and the US Census Bureau while working for at Harris Corporation. While at Northrop Grumman, he supported the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) KICS program at the Kennedy Space Center, FL. Angée is a thought leader who has been recognized as one of the most influential professionals in his field. With his leadership skills and extensive experience, he has made significant contributions in cybersecurity. Angée was awarded the 2023 CISO of the year award and was recognized by Becker's Healthcare as one of the Top CISOs to know in 2023. Angée received his Executive Doctoral degree of Business Administration (DBA) in Cybersecurity at St. Thomas University, a master's degree in computer and information science from Nova Southeastern University, and a bachelor’s degree in information studies at Florida State University. Angée is an advisory board member of the Master of Science in Health Informatics and Analytics at the Florida International University School of Business, and an advisory member of the Cybersecurity Center of the Americas at Miami Dade College. He has been a collaborator in curriculum development for several colleges and universities, and has been teaching in higher education for over a decade.
