Lieutenant Colonel Sam Spencer-Pittman serves as the Army FUZE Private Capital Integrator, leading private capital community engagement and technology scouting to integrate cutting-edge private-sector innovations into Army capabilities. A native of Roswell, New Mexico, LTC Spencer-Pitman commissioned in 2007 as a Logistics Officer. He has held numerous operational and staff leadership roles across conventional, special operations, and joint commands. These include the U.S. Special Operations Command South, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), 16th Combat Aviation Brigade, the Army Logistics University, and as Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of the Army Sustainment Center of Excellence. Additionally, from 2018-2021, LTC Spencer-Pitman served in a legislative capacity as an Army Congressional Fellow. This included serving as the Defense Fellow on the staff of the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee - Congressman Mike Rogers; and as the Army’s Legislative Liaison to the House and Senate Armed Services Committees managing all legislative matters related to the Army’s sustainment portfolio and sustainment operational priorities. LTC Spencer-Pitman also has deep experience in facilitating the Army’s modernization and technology initiatives both in his capacity at the Army Applications Laboratory and as a Defense Ventures Fellow for a defense technology focused venture capital firm.
