Lieutenant General Miles Brown is the 3rd Deputy Commanding General (DCG) of Army Futures Command (AFC) and continues in that role through the establishment of the Transformation of Training Command (T2COM). He previously served as the 4th Chief of Staff of AFC and as the 3rd Commanding General of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command
(DEVCOM).
Brown was commissioned from The Citadel. His assignments include Korea, and deployments to Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, and Afghanistan. He has served with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Infantry Divisions and the 1st Cavalry Division. Key staff roles include Aide-de-Camp to the Commander of Multi-National Force-Iraq, Chief of Staff of the 4th Infantry Division, and Deputy Director of the Futures and Concepts Center.
His combat commands include an Artillery Battalion in Iraq, a Brigade Combat Team in CENTCOM, and the Train, Advise, Assist Command-South (TAAC-S) in Afghanistan. He has completed eight tours in Southwest Asia.
Brown is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the National War College. He holds degrees from Central Michigan University and the National Defense University.
His awards include the Army Distinguished Service Medal (with 2 oak leaf clusters), the Bronze Star Medal (with 2 oak leaf cluster), the Combat Action Badge, and the Presidential Service Badge.
