Kevin Baron

Kevin Baron creates high-level conversations and live events strategies at the intersection of global affairs, technology, sport, and culture. He is founder and president of Elevation Global Strategies, and the host of Elevation Live, a global affairs video interview series. For 25 years, Baron has been an award-winning journalist, media executive, live events creator, and policy analyst covering international security, politics, and culture. In 2008, he began a 15-year run in the Pentagon press corps, reporting from war zones to world capitals. From 2013-2023, Baron was founding executive editor of Defense One. He has reported for NBC News/MSNBC, Foreign Policy, National Journal, Stars & Stripes, and the Boston Globe. Previously, Baron was editorial director and host of POLITICO’s live events. On stage, Baron has been host, moderator, participant and partner at global conferences including the Aspen Security Forum, Brussels Forum, Global Security Forum (Qatar), Halifax International Security Forum, NATO Engages, IISS Shangri-La Dialogue (Singapore), GLOBSEC Bratislava Forum, and Raisina Dialogue (India). Baron earned his M.A. in media and public affairs from George Washington University, and B.A. in international studies from the University of Richmond. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
