Juliana Mercer is a Marine Corps veteran, serving honorably for 16 years. She was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan during her military career and spent five years providing holistic support to wounded, ill, and injured Marines recovering at the Wounded Warrior Battalion in San Diego. Her service allowed her to easily transition into the Veteran nonprofit arena, where she has supported veteran transition and reintegration into our communities. With over 20 years of experience working with and serving the veteran population, Juliana deeply understands the veteran community's needs and what it takes to support them. In her quest to help fellow veterans and herself heal years of personal and military trauma, Juliana found Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT). Having experienced the healing potential firsthand, she's now an advocate. Working with congress members, senators, and legislators to move the needle on psychedelic access for veteran healing in her current role as the Executive Director for Healing Breakthrough, her mission is to sponsor and promote research, training, and political advocacy to drive the system-wide adoption of PAT in the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. Juliana serves on several nonprofit Veteran Service Organization BODs and founded a Public Benefit Corporation, Sabe Journeys, which aims to create meaningful change in the world through individual transformation and healing through psychedelic therapy.
