Jim is the SOUTHCOM J3 Directorate POLAD. Previously, Jim served as the Ukraine Political Military Desk Officer and as an INR Special Assistant in DC. His overseas work includes a tour as a consular officer in Bogota, Colombia, and another as a consular officer in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Prior to joining the Foreign Service in 2014, Jim was a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy. Jim received an MA from the George Washington University with a focus in Security Policy Studies, and Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Business Administration from the University of North Florida. He is married to Yara, and they have a border collie, Molly.
