Lawyer from Universidad Católica de Chile and LLM from Columbia University. He is a partner at Carey, Chile’s largest law firm, co-leading the venture capital, fintech corporate and investment funds practices groups. Francisco is the Chairman of the Chilean Venture Capital Association (ACVC) and Board Member of InBest, working on public-private initiatives with the Chilean Government to promote the Chilean financial market to the international community. He has been recognized as a leading lawyer in Venture Capital, Fintech and M&A by several foreign publications such as Chambers & Partners, Latin Lawyer and The Legal 500, among others. In 2022 he received the Investment Lawyer of the Year Award by Best Lawyers. He has been a postgraduate professor of corporate law and venture capital courses at three universities in Chile. Francisco is the author of the book "Insider Trading" (Legal Publishing, 2007) and frequently participates as a speaker in foreign investment seminars and events. Mr. Guzman is admitted to practice law in Chile, the State of New York and is registered as a Foreign Legal Consultant in Florida.
