Melanie Orell, MSPT, DPT, NCS is a senior physical therapist on the inpatient spinal cord injury rehabilitation unit at the Christine E. Lynn Rehabilitation Center. She originally graduated with her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami in 2001 and went on to complete her Post-Professional Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree at Washington University in St. Louis in 2013. In 2014, she became a Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist. Further embracing her passion for physical therapy with patients with neurological diagnoses, she has gone on to establish the joint Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency at the University of Miami/ Jackson Health System and serves as the clinical coordinator at Jackson, a mentor and didactic faculty member. She is also Adjunct Clinical Faculty at Florida International University, teaching in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. She is a co-site coordinator for clinical education at Jackson Memorial Hospital/ Lynn Rehab Center and a clinical instructor. In addition to her professional career, she is a proud mother of two beautiful daughters.
