Curt Lary is an American entrepreneur and engineer best known as the founder and CEO of Hextronics, a robotics and aerospace company focused on autonomous drone infrastructure. He founded the company with the goal of enabling fully automated drone operations through systems that allow drones to launch, land, recharge, and redeploy without human intervention. Lary’s work centers on developing “drone in a box” technology, which consists of integrated docking and battery swapping platforms that enable continuous remote drone missions for industries such as energy, construction, agriculture, and public safety. Starting Hextronics as a young founder, he helped grow the company from an early startup into a globally deployed hardware platform used to support persistent aerial data collection and automated inspections. His vision is to make autonomous drones a reliable part of everyday infrastructure, similar to fixed sensor networks or security systems, allowing organizations to monitor assets and gather real time data without on site pilots. Through his leadership and engineering work, Lary focuses on advancing practical long duration aerial robotics and expanding the real world capabilities of autonomous drone systems.
