Cody Wayne Burkhart works at the intersection of engineering, neuroscience, and human performance. He spent nearly two decades at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, supporting astronaut readiness and leading projects including the Advanced Resistive Exercise Device and the KRAKN analytics system aboard the International Space Station. He also served as chief of the HumanWorks Lab, where he brought together sensing, simulation, and biomechanics to study how people perform in demanding environments. Trained in aerospace and mechanical engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, with a master’s in Neuroscience & Behavior from the University of Houston–Clear Lake, his work has extended beyond space into collaborations with special operations units, professional athletes, and performance-focused teams. He is a co-founder of Anthropy Partners and continues to work across government, research, and industry, focused on how we expand human capability in a world increasingly shaped by advanced technology—without losing the human in the process. At the center of that work is a long-view belief that the tools we build should help future generations, including his own children, become more capable, adaptive, and deeply human.
