Saxon Baum is a Managing Partner at Florida Funders, a hybrid venture capital fund and investor network, where he leads efforts to connect top-tier investors with the most promising entrepreneurs across the country. A lifelong entrepreneur, Saxon launched his first business at the age of 12, selling items on eBay, and has since built a career at the intersection of innovation and investing.
He graduated from Miami University with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Entrepreneurship. While in college, Saxon co-founded his first venture-backed startup, WeVue, a corporate culture software company. Over six years, he scaled the business as Co-Founder and head of sales and marketing.
Saxon joined Florida Funders to begin his career in venture capital, where he has played a key role in scaling the firm’s assets under management, which surpassed $300 million by 2025. During his tenure, the firm has achieved six portfolio exits, reflecting the quality of deal selection and hands-on support Florida Funders provides to its companies. In addition to his role at the firm, Saxon serves on the boards of Betr, Flex, and Satisfi Labs, among several others, and is a board observer at Archive. He is also an active angel and venture capital investor, with a portfolio of more than 30 private investments, focusing primarily on technology companies in both the private and public markets. Saxon holds a FINRA Series 65 license.
Saxon is also the host of Skin in the Game, the Southeast’s leading venture capital podcast, where he engages founders, investors, and operators on the stories and insights shaping the innovation economy.
Outside of work, Saxon and his wife, Stephanie, are the proud parents of two children with one on the way: their daughter Bari and son Banks. An avid golfer, snowboarder, and padel player, Saxon brings the same competitive drive to his personal pursuits as he does to backing the next generation of great companies.
