Francis X. Suarez is an American attorney, entrepreneur, and civic leader who served as the 43rd Mayor of Miami from 2017 to 2025, becoming the first Miami-born mayor in the city’s history. He played a pivotal role in positioning Miami as a global hub for finance, technology, and entrepreneurship, transforming the city from a destination into a place where companies and innovators choose to build. During a defining period beginning in 2020, Mayor Suarez advanced a pro-growth, innovation-driven agenda grounded in partnership with the private sector, captured by his widely recognized “How can I help?” philosophy. His leadership elevated Miami’s global profile while prioritizing public safety, infrastructure, and inclusive economic opportunity. Mr. Suarez has been named one of Fortune’s World’s 50 Greatest Leaders, a TIME Future 100 Leader, and an Aspen Institute Rodel Fellow.
