This mind-stimulating, adrenaline-fueled event attracted over 125 coders last year and is sure to be even more exiciting at eMERGE 2017. Hackathon participants have 24 hours to tackle complex challenges presented by industry-leading API sponsors. The reward? More than $50,000 in cash and prizes—and the thrill of building something amazing from the ground up. It’s also a wonderful opportunity for computer programmers and other software development professionals to collaborate on a project in a creatively-charged environment.
As a participant, you will receive a complimentary Tech Pass. On the day of the hackathon, be sure to come prepared with everything you need for the full 24 hours. Food will be provided. Winners will be announced on center stage of the EXPO floor.

The eMerge Americas Hackathon is the official hackathon of the eMerge Americas Conference. Teams will have 24 hours to build their project and present their demos to a panel of judges to compete for more than $50,000 in cash and prizes.

There is no theme to this year’s Hackathon, we want you to build something you’re passionate about. Yes, really! Something innovative, something that solves a problem, something that is technically amazing!
Come with an idea and a group, or a group with no idea, or alone with an idea… You’ll put the pieces together a the Welcome Party on Friday night.
The reception for the hackathon will be on Friday, June 9 at 6PM. On Friday night, you’ll have a chance to meet other participants as well as have an opportunity to join a team or find members for your team.
The hackathon officially begins on Saturday, June 10th at 9AM and will go on for 24 hours. Demos will be presented starting at 11AM on Sunday.

Anyone & everyone! Ideally, each team will have a mix of experienced and new developers, a design guru and a non-tech person – Don’t forget, someone needs to have a knack for copywriting, or be a great public speaker!

No, anyone can join. If you are an inexperienced developer this may be a fun opportunity to work on your skills using a real life project.
There are absolutely no restrictions on the technologies that you can use. You could build a Web application, a mobile app, a hardware hack, a robot, whatever captivates your imagination that uses your technology, computer science and/or engineering skills.
Our sponsors, Facebook and Microsoft, will provide APIs which you can include in your projects for a chance to win further prizes. They will be announced at the Welcome Party.
No. Just kidding! If you (and your teammates) think a nap at your house or a quick trip to Krispy Kreme will help your team, by all means- go for it. The development, however, needs to be done on premise.
We’ll be there along the way to support all the teams with any challenges they may face. Ironhack will have a team of developers on the floor who will act as mentors and will resolve any issues you may have.
Yes – all Hackathon participants receive a Tech Pass to the eMerge Americas conference just for participating in the hackathon.
Yep! We’ll have a quiet room set specifically for people who would like to take naps (long or short) during the hackathon. Just make sure to ask one of your teammates to wake you up!
Your team will be evaluated based your project, your presentation and by your interactions with the judges during the event. Several factors will be considered by the judges, such as innovation, user experience, implementation and others.
