A native of the Bronx, NY, Carlos’ background is in the use of innovative technology to improve systems and has over the years worked at the intersection of technology, education, and communication. He currently serves as the founding president of Miami EdTech, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization leveraging innovative programming to unite all stakeholders dedicated to transforming education through the use of technology. The organization provides professional development for educators and equips them with the technology and skills to prepare students for jobs of the future. Carlos is the President of the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) Miami chapter and arrived in Miami in 2012 as the Founding Program Manager of a workforce development non-profit organization that partnered with Miami Dade College to provide training and career opportunities to young adults from traditionally underserved backgrounds. In 2017 he served as co-director of New Leaders Council Miami, a chapter of the national organization that has 50 chapters across the country dedicated to educating a new generation of leaders and to providing those leaders with the tools they need to succeed. He is also the CEO of CDG Innovations, an educational technology services company that is committed to disrupting the way that learning happens everywhere through innovative edtech tools, consulting, and services.
