With a distinguished career spanning military service, critical care nursing, and healthcare education, Dr. Wawersik holds a PhD in Health Professions Education with a focus on interprofessional education and simulation, alongside a master’s degree in nursing education specializing in healthcare simulation. Her expertise positions her as a leader in supporting and mentoring educators in this field. As a co-chair of the Healthcare Distance Simulation Collaborative, a global organization dedicated to advancing healthcare distance simulation through scholarship, she plays a key role in shaping the future of simulation education. Dr. Wawersik is also an active contributor to various esteemed professional organizations and is engaged in ongoing simulation education research, demonstrating technical proficiency across a range of simulation technologies.
