Tony Jimenez

Tony has over 20 years of experience as a serial entrepreneur, venture capitalist, non-profit leader, and public servant in the federal government.

Tony is the Managing Director at Medina Capital, a venture firm that has three funds with 3 different strategies: 1) early stage, industry agnostic technologies 2) growth capital and 3) cybersecurity & digital infrastructure focused buyout. Tony is responsible for the operational functions of the fund and seeking out new potential investments.

Tony is also deeply committed towards helping educate everyone about the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle and sharing his personal story on how it saved his own life. This led him to launch, JOI, one of the most innovative alternative dairy companies in the plant-based food market. Tony is currently the Chairman and Chief Evangelist at JOI, a Miami-based company that he continues to lead.

While at University of Florida, Tony Co-Founded Roots of Hope (RoH), a human rights advocacy non-profit organization that empowers Cuban youth. In 2009 he and RoH partnered with 19-time Grammy winner, Juanes, to organize the historic “Peace Without Borders” concert in Havana that attracted 1.2 million Cubans. At the time it was the largest independently organized event in Cuba since 1959 and top 10 largest concerts in the World.

Tony began his career in Washington, D.C. working in Presidential politics as a member of President George W. Bush’s re-election campaign and White House Political Affairs office. In 2005 he was appointed as an aide to U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez.

Tony and his wife, Melissa Medina, are parents of 5 children and proudly live in Miami, FL. He has a Bachelors in Liberal Arts & Sciences from the University of Florida (2004) and an M.B.A. in Design Strategy from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, CA (2015).
