Shannon Phillips

Vice President, Abshire Public Relations

Vice President at Abshire Public Relations, Shannon Phillips plans and delivers strategic visions for clients. To her, working in communications means having the opportunity to shape and share stories bigger than herself and challenging the status quo through innovative outlets. She joined the firm in 2018, and has served as Creative Director and now Vice President. She specializes in videography and photography, oversees social media and graphic design, handles media relations, and works with clients to help deliver their strategic vision.

Prior to joining Abshire Public Relations, Shannon worked in the news business serving as the Senior Producer for WCTV (the CBS affiliate in Tallahassee, FL). In that role, she was a newsroom manager dedicated to overseeing their team of producers, telling emotionally driven stories, managing special projects and live remotes, creating custom graphics, and producing aggressively showcased newscasts each day.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Digital Broadcast Journalism and Communications from the University of Georgia.

Shannon is driven by the desire to empower others. She does this through her involvement with the Savannah Jaycees (serving as the leader of the communications committee and VP of Communications), serving as a community coach for youth cheerleading (leading 20 youth athletes to success both on and off the mat), and her involvement in organized philanthropy with the Savannah Foundation’s Emerging Leaders Committee. In addition, she was selected to participate in the Georgia Chamber High Potentials Leadership Program, alongside some of the most distinguished emerging leaders in the state and has presented to 50+ business leaders on the importance of enhancing your digital presence at the Georgia Chamber Regional Small Business Series.

You can always find Shannon with a camera in hand. On Saturdays, she wears red and black and yells Go Dawgs! When not working, she enjoys traveling to new places, spending time with family and friends, and exploring all the can’t miss and can’t forget places in her hometown of Savannah,GA.
