Saif Y. Ishoof
Vice President for Engagement at Florida International University
Saif Y. Ishoof, Esq. serves as Vice President for Engagement at Florida International University. Saif leads a dynamic team in the Office of Engagement responsible for guiding the university’s participation with economic development agencies, industry partners, local government partners and social enterprises. In addition to strategic partnerships, the Office of Engagement has helped to launch several of the university’s programs focused on the #FutureOfWork including the Talent Development Network and more recently the UpLabs Initiative.
Saif is also a Senior Fellow in the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs where he teaches in the Masters of Arts in Global Affairs Program. Saif was also recently tapped to lead FIU’s efforts as an inaugural member of the Public Interest Technology University Network—an Initiative that was incubated by the New America think tank and the Ford Foundation to address issues at the nexus of exponential technologies and the public interest.
Previously, Saif served as founding Executive Director at City Year Miami, which provides 17-24 year olds an opportunity to serve one year in high-need schools as tutors, mentors and role models to address the opportunity gap.
Saif’s professional career includes being a startup technology entrepreneur and an executive in agricultural and engineering companies. Saif earned his bachelor’s degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law.
Saif’s personal and professional life has been defined by a commitment to developing young people, building civic institutions, international dialogue, and entrepreneurship. Saif is a frequently quoted writer and speaker on topics including how the forces of disruption are going to reshape how we learn, work, serve and play in the future.
