Laura Maydon

Laura is co-founder of Ascendo, a venture capital firm based in Miami providing inclusive access to equity capital to overlooked scalable companies nationwide. Ascendo invests in early-stage companies led by exceptional, Black or Latin or female founders. Ascendo is raising its first fund. Laura has both investing and operating experience and has been working with diverse entrepreneurs and businesses for more than 20 years. Prior to Ascendo, Laura co-founded Endeavor Miami, the first US affiliate of the global organization. During the time she led the organization, the portfolio of Endeavor Entrepreneurs grew to 23 companies which generated more than $250 million in revenue. Prior to Endeavor, Laura held several leadership positions at Visa and Panamco. She has strong M&A and private equity backgrounds.

Laura serves on the Board of International Money Express (NASDAQ: IMXI), where she is Chair of the Nominating & Governance Committee and Member of the Compensation Committee. She is an Independent Director of National Fiber Welding, a Member of the Investment Committee of Salkantay Ventures, and an Advisory Board Member of two female led startups. Laura serves on other volunteer organizations, including All Raise Miami Chapter Steering Committee and as Co-President of the HBS Club of South Florida. Laura has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B. S. in Economics (Summa Cum Laude) from I.T.A.M. in Mexico City.
