Keo Shaw

Of Counsel, FDA Regulatory Group, DLA Piper

Keo Shaw is a lawyer who advises life sciences, technology and healthcare clients on a range of regulatory, compliance and transactional issues. Keo has particularly rich experience advising on digital health technologies. She has a neuroscience degree from the University of Cambridge and is dual-qualified as a lawyer in the US and the UK, bringing an international outlook to her practice.

Keo is part of DLA Piper’s FDA Regulatory and AI practices. She regularly advises and publishes on legal issues arising from the application of novel medical technologies, including medical AI. Keo is also a member of the Health AI Partnership (HAIP) leadership team, along with members from Duke, Mayo Clinic and others. HAIP’s mission is to empower healthcare professionals in diverse settings to use health AI effectively, safely and equitably, through community-informed contemporary standards.
Before joining DLA Piper, Keo was senior health products counsel at a multinational technology company. In that role Keo advised business teams and executive management on complex legal and regulatory risks relating to app-based and wearable technologies, including supply and development agreements, human subjects research and clinical trials, regulatory authorization for software as a medical device, product marketing and post-market issues.
