Kate focuses her practice on data privacy and information strategy in emerging technology. Her clients include digital health, consumer, and genetics companies leveraging big data, AI, machine learning, and precision medicine. She provides companies with practical strategies for understanding how to appropriately leverage their data assets.

Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Kate served as 23andMe’s first Global Policy Officer in Mountainview, California where she was responsible for oversight and management of the company’s privacy team, international compliance, and data governance. Prior to 23andMe, Kate worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C, in the Office of the  National Coordinator for Health IT.

Kate has experience in every aspect of global privacy programs from advising clients on regulatory and legislative changes that will impact the health technology environment to overseeing security audits for leading technology companies.  She has been a featured speaker and frequent lecturer on data privacy and cybersecurity, data analytics, digital health, mobile medical applications, and privacy issues relating to genetic data and health research.
