David Seo, M.D. is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Population Health and Computational Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The Division’s mission is to address the principles of large dataset analytics and the application of such knowledge in the design and execution of interventions to treat disease and maintain wellness.
Dr. Seo is also the Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President, Chief Medical Informatics Officer and Chief Research Information Officer for the University of Miami and University of Miami Health System. He is responsible for the enterprise clinical systems including Epic and Meditech electronic health records, the enterprise research administrative systems and the clinical data warehouse and analytics platform.
Dr. Seo received his Undergraduate and Medical Degrees from Duke University. He completed his internship and residency at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center of Harvard Medical School and completed his clinical and research fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine at Duke University Medical Center. He was a faculty member in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Duke University Medical Center prior to joining the faculty at the University of Miami in 2007. He continues to work as a clinical cardiologist and is an NIH funded researcher.
