Carmen Perez-Carlton is the former President of FPL FiberNet, LLC. FiberNet was a wholly-owned subsidiary of NextEra Energy, Inc., a Fortune 200 company, until its sale in 2017. FiberNet is a provider of fiber-based communications services with networks throughout Florida and Texas. FiberNet was acquired by Crown Castle, Inc. for one of the highest valuations in the fiber sector at that time. Carmen served as president of FiberNet since 2007 and is currently serving as advisor to Crown Castle and others in matters related to growth strategies and M&A.
Under her leadership, the company became one of the fastest growing fiber-based communications companies in the southeast United States. She focused on driving profitable growth and investing capital to expand and densify the fiber network to provide customers with the best possible customer experience. FiberNet consistently received top customer ratings for the quality of its products, network performance and customer service. She was recognized by Capacity Media as being one of the top 10 women in telecom in 2013, and was known in the industry as one of the few women in the U.S. running a telecom company.
