Andres Oppenheimer

Columnist for The Miami Herald, Anchor of Oppenheimer Presenta on CNN en Español, and Author of "Innovate or Die: How to Re-invent Yourself and Thrive in the Innovation Age"

Andrés Oppenheimer is the syndicated foreign affairs columnist with The Miami Herald, anchor of «Oppenheimer Presenta» on CNN En Español and author of seven best-sellers that have been translated into several languages, including Portuguese and Japanese.

He was selected by the Forbes Media Guide as one of the «500 most important journalists» of the United States, and by Poder Magazine as one of the «100 most powerful people» in Latin America. Oppenheimer is the co-winner of the 1987 Pullitzer Prize as a member of The Miami Herald team that uncovered the Iran-Contra scandal, and won among others the Inter American Press Association Award, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Award, the Ortega y Gasset Award of Spain’s daily El País, the Maria Moors Cabot Award of Columbia University, the King of Spain Award, the Overseas Press Club Award and the Suncoast Emmy award from the National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences.

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he obtained a Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University in New York in 1978. He has honorary PhD degrees from the Galileo University of Guatemala, Domingo Savio University of Bolivia and Esan University of Peru.
